AMA

The AMA's (American Music Awards) were on Sunday night. There was a variety of music artists at the award show, One Direction was a big winner at the 2014 ceremony, taking home both the artist of the year award and the trophy for favorite pop/rock band, duo or group. Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who walked into the ceremony as the lead nominee with six nods, also won two awards on Sunday, including the favorite rap/hip-hop album honour.Selena Gomez is known for elaborate dance numbers, but on Sunday she dialed it way back with an emotional performance of her single, "The Heart Wants What it Wants." Her performance was my favourite because it was different than her usual performances.

Music Apps

Buying music on ITunes, or the Google Store can be expensive. With all of the technology there are many great apps that allow you to listen to music for free. These apps will save you money and have a variety of songs. The Songza app plays music to what you are doing, for example there are playlists for songs when you are working out, in the car, and the holidays. Another app is Shazam it helps you identify music in seconds you'll know the name of any song. Lastly 8 Tracks app is playlists of music that people make and upload.

One Direction

On Monday One Direction just released there new album Four it has 12 new tracks and 4 bonus tracks. The new hit song on the album is Steal My Girl. So One Direction have been up to a few things recently: FOUR releases, EMA wins and live stream action! One Direction is going on tour again! This tour they will be in Ottawa for the very first time, they will be performing at Canadian Tire Center and TD Place. One Direction has 5 members Liam, Harry, Zayn, Louis, and Niall, my favourite member is Liam.

Christmas!!!

Christmas is quickly approaching and soon we will be hearing Christmas songs on the radio. Christmas is my favourite holiday, I like the snow, the lights, and Christmas music. I think Christmas music makes people happier and have Christmas spirit. My top 5 favourite Christmas songs are:

Luke Bryan

Luke Byran is one of my favourite male country singer and songwriter. He was born in Leesburg, Georgia. When he was young he worked on a farm but when he was teenager he started to have a passion for music. In 2001 he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. In Nashville he would perform in local clubs where a music company signed him a record deal. His first album was I'll Stay Me, he now has 4 albums released. My favourite album is Crash My Party which includes songs: Drink a Beer and Play it Again. At the CMA's for 2014 he won the Entertainer of the Year award.

Concerts

I really enjoy going to concerts, I like atmosphere and seeing famous singers. So far I have been to about 13 concerts. Some of my favourite concerts were Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, and Katy Perry all of them put on a great show. At the Justin Timberlake concert he put on a fantastic show he sang songs off all of his albums. The Katy Perry concert was colouful and bright, she had lots of dancers and was interactive with the crowd. I love going to concerts and hope to see Taylor Swift in July when she comes to the Canadian Tire Centre.
